Maxxis Rekon XC / Trail Tyre – Fast, Confident Performance for Technical Trails
The Maxxis Rekon is a versatile trail tyre designed for riders who want speed without sacrificing grip on technical terrain. Positioned between a pure XC tyre and a more aggressive trail option, the Rekon offers a balanced tread pattern that rolls efficiently while still delivering dependable traction on climbs, descents, and loose sections.
The tread design features ramped centre knobs for reduced rolling resistance, paired with aggressive side knobs that provide confident cornering and control. This makes the Rekon a strong performer on hard-packed trails as well as loose-over-hard conditions.
Available in several compound options—including Dual Compound, 3C MaxxSpeed, and 3C MaxxTerra—the Rekon allows riders to choose the right balance between speed, grip, and durability. Casing options include 60 TPI or 120 TPI, with EXO or EXO+ puncture protection available for improved sidewall strength on rough trails.
Wide Trail (WT) sizes are optimised for modern wide rims (around 35mm internal width), providing a better tyre profile and improved handling. Many versions are also Tubeless Ready (TR), allowing riders to run lower pressures for enhanced grip and puncture protection.
