Benefits

  • Very lightweight: TPU construction significantly reduces rotating and overall bike weight compared with conventional butyl tubes.
  • Compact spare: Folds down much smaller than a standard rubber tube, making it ideal for a saddle bag or jersey pocket.
  • 60mm valve: Provides sufficient length for many deeper-section aerodynamic rims.
  • Broad tyre range: Covers common road tyres from 23mm through 35mm.
  • Performance focused: Particularly useful for riders looking to reduce weight and rolling mass.

Important Installation Notes

TPU tubes require more careful installation than traditional butyl tubes. Avoid pinching the tube between the tyre bead and rim, and use the correct tyre size. Ryder also states that its TPU tubes are not compatible with tube sealant.

Best suited for: road cycling, racing, endurance riding and riders carrying a lightweight emergency spare.
