Shimano SH-XC501 MTB Cycling Shoes – XC / SPD

The Shimano SH-XC501 is a lightweight XC MTB shoe built for riders who want efficient power transfer without going to a full carbon race shoe. The glass-fibre-reinforced midsole has a stiffness rating of 7/12, giving you a solid pedalling platform while still allowing enough flex for sections where you need to walk or hike with the bike.

The Surround Wrapping upper gives the shoe a close, supportive fit, while the combination of breathable mesh, TPU and synthetic leather helps with comfort and ventilation. A BOA L6 dial provides quick micro-adjustment, with a forefoot strap allowing further fit adjustment. Shimano's DYNALAST shape helps keep the foot naturally positioned over the pedal.

Underneath, the Michelin rubber outsole provides good grip and a mud-shedding tread pattern when you're off the bike. The reinforced spike mounts can also accept optional 18mm toe spikes for particularly loose or muddy conditions. The XC501 uses a 2-bolt SPD cleat system.
